Take one part National Rum Day, add in the inspiration of classic dessert Bananas Foster, up the ante with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, liquify and serve in a coupe rimmed with banana sugar and you’ve got one tasty Banana Hammock.

In NYC tonight and have $11 in your pocket? Head to Mother’s Ruin (18 Spring Street) where they will be will be whipping up these homemade specials in honor of National Rum Day.

Stuck at your own bar? Serve them to your guests; they go down easy.

1.5 oz Sailor Jerry
.75 oz homemade banana syrup (1:1:1 ratio)
.75 fresh lime juice
Dash of Angostura bitters
Shaken over ice. Strained into a coupe glass with spiced banana dusted rim
(Spiced banana dusted rim is sugar carmelized with homemade banana syrup and Sailor Jerry)
