RIVERO DELGADO IS APPOINTED THE NEW GENERAL MANAGER OF HOTEL ARTS BARCELONA
Ritz Carlton veteran Rivero Delgado, who formerly helmed the Hotel Villa Padierna, Marbella, has moved on to take on the role of GM at the Hotel Arts Barcelona. The local Catalan’s career path began in the f&b department, before diving into the arenas of hotel operations and sales. In her new role, Ms. Delgado is responsible for all operations and sales as well as guest and employee engagement at the highly awarded Barcelona beachfront property. Ms. Delgado holds her MBA degree from IESE in Barcelona.

GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE TOURISM ORGANIZATION PLANETERRA TAPS ECOTOURISM VISIONARY MEGAN EPLER WOOD AS DIRECTOR
Gap Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip announced the appointment of ecotourism industry veteran Megan Epler Wood as Director of Planeterra, the global non-profit dedicated to sustainable community development through travel and voluntourism.. Ms. Epler Woods has a decade of seminal work in the 1990’s directing TIES helped to create and define ecotourism, a field that continues to evolve today. Ms. Epler Wood will share duties with newly named Associate Director Paula Vlamings.

SEAN FOLEY JOINS THE WHITEFACE LODGE AS DIRECTOR OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE
The Whiteface Lodge, of Lake Placid, NY, welcomes Sean Foley as its new Director of Food and Beverage. Mr Foley, who has previously worked as the Food Service Director at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa in Stowe, VT, and in administrative positions at several Lake Placid area resorts, will be overseeing Whiteface’s banquet and catering programs and coordinating with the Lodge’s chef to create an exciting array of culinary features throughout the year.

CONWAY FAMILY WINES INTRODUCES DEEP SEA WINES TO NEW YORK
Conway Family Wines, a family-owned winery from California, has recently created a New York-based sales team in order to prepare for the early 2011 release of their “Deep Sea” line of wines into the New York market. Mark O’Neill, formerly of Southern Wines & Spirits, and Vincenza Lucifero, formerly of Wilson Daniels, Ltd, are joining Conway Family Wines as its New York Sales Managers. Mr. O’Neill has worked both for both Southern Wines & Spirits and for Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group and therefore knows the industry from the producer and consumer angles. Ms. Lucifero has been involved in marketing some of the world’s most prestigious wines both with Wilson Daniels and Septimanie Export, and this experience will be invaluable as she embarks on the “Deep Sea” project.

PRINCEVILLE’S MURPHY NAMED PGA PROFESSIONAL AND MERCHANDISER OF THE YEAR
The Princeville Prince Course in Hanalei announced that Director of Golf Steve Murphy has received two elite honors from the Aloha Section of the PGA – 2010 Professional of the Year and Merchandiser of the Year .

The PGA Professional of the Year Award recognizes professionals based on their entire record with an emphasis on his/her achievements during the last five years. Mr. Murphy was the driving force behind the inaugural PGA / Amateur event on Kaua‘i this past summer, The Prince Invitational, which drew a field of many top professionals and leading amateur golfers from the state. Mr. Murphy, who started at Prince Course in 2004 as Head Professional, serves on the Board of Directors of both the Aloha PGA Section and the Kaua‘i Junior Golf Association.
