PRIZE
The grand prize is an educational trip to France to learn the intricacies of Louis Royer Cognac’s production in Jarnac, experience its Cognac heritage dating back to 1853, meet its fifth generation Master Selector and Master Distiller, as well as spend two nights in Paris to experience the City of Light’s sophisticated cocktail culture. Second and third place winners will each win a cash prize of $1,000.

COCKTAIL GUIDELINES
• The cocktail must contain a minimum of 1 ½ oz of Louis Royer “Force 53” VSOP Cognac.
• Recipes should use a maximum of five (5) common ingredients, rather than those that are
obscure or homemade.
• If other hard spirits are included, they are limited to ½ oz.
• Techniques should likewise be straightforward to facilitate replication by home bartenders.
• All recipe ingredients are to use U.S. measurements.

HOW TO APPLY
A maximum of two (2) seasonally driven recipes, including cocktail names, a list of ingredients, preparation method, the seasonal inspiration behind each cocktail and cocktail photos should be uploaded at www.shakestir.com/louisroyer

SUBMISSION PERIOD
May 2 to August 31, 2012

RECIPE OWNERSHIP
Louis Royer Cognac will assume ownership of all the submitted recipes and will credit its creator in all publicity (print, broadcast, online), social media platforms, as well as marketing materials.

FINAL COMPETITION DATE AND PLACE
Six finalists will compete in New York City on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Rayuela Restaurant, 165 Allen St., between Stanton and Rivington Sts.
